Induction Program 2025

The Induction Program for first-year B. Tech students was organized at Sipna College of Engineering & Technology, Amravati, marking an inspiring beginning to the academic journey of the new batch. The event coincided with Engineers’ Day (September 15), celebrated in honor of Sir M. Visvesvaraya, the visionary engineer and Bharat Ratna awardee.

Program was inaugurated on 15th September at 11:00 am in college auditorium.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Ashish Yerekar, IAS, District Collector of Amravati, as Chief Guest.

Shri Jagdishji Gupta, President of Sipna Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Amravati presided over the inaugural function in gracious presence of Principal Dr S.M. Kherde. Degree Program Coordinator Dr V.T. Gaikwad & HoD of Science & Humanities Dr N.V. Shirbhate were also present on the dais.

The program commenced with a warm welcome of students, followed by Saraswati Pujan and lamp lighting to invoke blessings of knowledge and wisdom. Distinguished guests were welcomed with saplings, symbolizing the institute’s commitment to sustainability.

Dr. V. T. Gaikwad, highlighted the purpose of the induction program, emphasizing academic excellence, holistic development, and student engagement. Heads of Departments and Deans from various disciplines were introduced, reflecting the institute’s strong academic leadership.

A distinguished alumnus of IIT Bombay and a 2018 batch IAS officer, Shri Ashish Yerekar sir, shared his inspiring journey from Nanded to the civil services, motivating students with his experiences of perseverance, dedication, and public service. In his address on career guidance, he urged students to dream big, remain disciplined, and develop problem-solving skills to succeed not only in engineering but in life. His insights on balancing academics, preparation, and service to the nation deeply inspired the audience.

The program also witnessed an address by Principal Dr. S. M. Kherde sir. He warmly welcomed the newly admitted students and congratulated them on beginning their engineering journey at one of the reputed institutions in the region. He emphasized the importance of building strong fundamentals, active participation in academic as well as co-curricular activities, and developing professional skills. Delivering the Presidential address, Shri Jagdishji Gupta sir, congratulated students for embarking on their higher education journey and urged them to make the best use of the opportunities provided by the institute. With his characteristic oratory, he stressed the importance of hard work, integrity, and perseverance in academic as well as professional life.

After the inaugural program, various sessions were conducted on two days, to explore the students with academic processes & other activities in the institute.

On Day 1,15h September, Dr G.P. Dhok, Dean Academics, delivered a session about the B.Tech.  program with Autonomous status & Credit System of the course. He briefed the students about Cocurricular Activities & its Credits in F.Y. Scheme as per the NEP guidelines.

In next session, Dr N.V. Shirbhate, HoD of Science & Humanities department, have given the details about the Scheme & Syllabus of First Year B.Tech. He also given the detail information about the department. In second phase of the program, campus visit of students was organised to various departments & central facilities.

On Day 2, 16th September, Dr A.D. Gawande, Controller of Examination, shared the information about the assessment process & the examination pattern of the autonomous course along with other relevant information. Dr A.V. Sable & Dr J. S. Karnewar, conducted the awareness Session about ABC ID & PARAKH portal registration.

Dr P.R. Malasane, Dean Students Affair has shared the information regarding various extra-curricular activities in the institute. He also explored about different student’s club & appeal the students to participate in the activities of these clubs for their all-round development.

In further session, Dr. P. G. Deshmukh, Dean III & CR has given the details about various skill-based training programs, internship opportunities for the students. He also shared various campus placement & career opportunities arrange by III & CR cell.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. P. R. Jakhotiya, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty, and students for their participation and contribution to the success of the event.
