Objective of Event:
The objective of the event is to foster creativity, innovation, and out-of-the-box thinking among participants by encouraging them to develop innovative solutions to technical challenges. The event aims to provide a platform for participants to apply their technical knowledge and skills to real-world problems, enhance their problem-solving abilities, and gain practical, hands-on experience.
It also encourages participants to explore new technologies, strengthen their technical competencies, and learn within a short and challenging timeframe. Additionally, the event provides opportunities for participants to interact with industry professionals, mentors, and like-minded peers, enabling them to exchange ideas, gain valuable insights, and expand their professional networks
About the events :
Sipna College of Engineering & Technology, Amravati, organized a one-day Internal Institute Level Hackathon-2026 as part of the Smart India Hackathon-2026 on 04 September 2026 at 11:00 a.m. The event was conducted at the Digital Learning Centre, Department of Information Technology.
The hackathon witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various departments. With a strong competitive spirit and a determination to showcase their technical abilities and achievements, the participants actively engaged in developing innovative solutions to the given problem statements. The event provided students with an excellent platform to apply their technical knowledge, demonstrate creativity, enhance their problem-solving skills, and gain practical experience.
The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. S. M. Kherde, Principal, Sipna College of Engineering & Technology, Amravati. In his inaugural address, he provided valuable guidance and motivation to the students, encouraging them to pursue their goals with dedication, innovation, and confidence.
The dignitaries present on the occasion included Dr. S. M. Kherde, Principal, Sipna C.O.E.T., Amravati; Dr. S. V. Rode, Dean, Research & Development; Dr. A. D. Gawande, Controller of Examination; Dr. A. B. Deshmukh, Professor, Department of Information Technology; Mr. M. D. Tambakhe, SPOC, SIH-2026; and other faculty members.
A total of 65 teams registered for the Internal Institute Level Hackathon. Out of these, 55 teams presented their respective problem statements along with proposed solutions before the judges. Based on their performance, 45 teams were shortlisted for the next round, along with 5 teams placed on the waiting list.
The event was anchored by Ms. Gunjan V. Amgaonkar and Mr. Ashay S. Deshpande, second-year students of the Department of Information Technology. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Ishwari Umekar, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, judges, faculty members, coordinators, and participants for their valuable contributions to the successful conduct of the event.
Following the inaugural ceremony, students from various departments presented their innovative solutions to the given problem statements and interacted with the judges, receiving valuable feedback and insights. The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than 330 students attending and participating in the Internal Institute Level Hackathon-2026.
Overall, the hackathon served as an excellent platform for students to demonstrate their technical expertise, creativity, teamwork, and innovative problem-solving abilities while preparing them for the next stage of the Smart India Hackathon-2026.
