Academic Council

As per Gazette Notification University Grants Commission, New Delhi, dated 3rd April, 2023 (Conferment of Autonomous Status Upon Colleges and Measures for Maintenance of Standards in Autonomous Colleges) Regulations, 2023, (12.4)  and Guidelines for Autonomous Colleges, The Academic Council of Sipna College of Engineering and Technology, Amravati has been constituted for three years, from AY 2024-25 to AY 2026-27.

ACADEMIC COUNCIL COMPOSITION AND FUNCTIONS

The Academic Council of Sipna College of Engineering and Technology, Amravati has been constituted for three years, from AY 2024-25 to AY 2026-27 as per UGC Guidelines for Autonomous Colleges.

Notes:

1. The term of nominated Members shall be three years, from AY 2024-25 to AY 2026-27
2. Principal shall convene a Meeting of the Academic Council twice in a year.
3. The principal may invite any Faculty Member or Experts from outside to participate/advise on specific issues.
4. Invitees will not have voting power in case of any critical decision-making.

Functions of Sipna COET Academic Council –

• Scrutinize and approve Proposals with or without modification of the Boards of Studies with regard to Courses of Study, Academic Regulations, Curricula, Syllabi and modifications thereof, Instructional and Evaluation Arrangements, Methods, Procedures relevant thereto etc., provided that where the Academic Council differs on any Proposal, it shall have the right to return the matter for reconsideration to the Board of Studies concerned or reject it, after giving reasons to do so.
• Make Regulations regarding Admission of Students to different Programmes of Study in the College keeping in view the Policy of the Government.
• Make regulations for Sports, extra-Curricular activities, and proper maintenance and functioning of Playgrounds and Hostels.
• Recommend to Board of Governors Proposals for institution of new Programmes of Study.
• Recommend to Board of Governors institution of Scholarships, Studentships, Fellowships, Prizes and Medals, and to frame Regulations for award of the same.
• Advise the Board of Governors on suggestions(s) pertaining to Academic affairs made by it.
• Perform such other functions as may be assigned by the Board of Governors.
  Where the Academic Council differs on any Proposal of Board of Studies, it will have the right to return the matter for reconsideration to the Board of Studies concerned or reject it, after giving reasons to do so.
  The decision taken by Academic Council of SIPNA COET will not be subjected to any further ratification by Academic Council of other Statutory Bodies of the University.
